The Proprietor of Dawgone.com envisioned herself as a veterinarian when she grew up. She was influenced by her father’s best friend, a veterinarian in the town she grew up in. Surrounded by a menagerie of pets as a child, her love for animals became an enduring mission as an adult to be involved with animals. Her biggest passion is helping pets that are lost and found be reunited with their families.

Life led her on a different path, but the call to help those who lost their beloved pets has remained as one her biggest passions. She understands the pain and fear, having experienced it herself when her German Shepherd mix was lost in the desert of El Paso with 100 of miles to search. After two exhausting days in the desert, her beloved pet was found because of her determination that she would not go home without her.

Delving into statistics of pets lost, she learned that approximately 35% -45% of lost pets find their way back home. The core issues. Many pets aren’t chipped and registered, in addition people put cute sweaters and scarves on their beloved pets, but so many that are lost don’t have collars with contact information or rabies tags.
Dawgone was born in 2007, a haven for our pets to be safe in a gated community. Now, with renewed vigor, Dawgone is expanding in El Paso, Texas, Santa Teresa, Sunland Park New Mexico and surrounding areas. It’s a vision of unity, where the community watches over lost and found fur babies and joins hands to assist the pet community.
